Saudi Oil Minister Returns to Qatar to Deliver Annual Dinner Lecture at 4th Al-Attiyah International Energy Awards in May

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources, H.E. Ali Al-Naimi, regarded by many as the most influential voice in the global oil industry, will deliver The 2016 Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah International Energy Awards Lecture at the annual gala event held in the Museum of Islamic Art, Doha, on May 24th.

The annual Al-Attiyah Lecture will provide the National and International audience with an outlook for the energy industry, delivering insights on the possible implications of current trends for the international markets in the year ahead. Oil prices have crashed since mid-2014 on the back of a massive global oil glut and dwindling demand. OPEC meanwhile has adopted a strategy to protect market share and has abandoned its traditional role of swing producer to support prices.

H.E. Al-Naimi joins a prestigious group of distinguished international voices that have delivered the annual Al-Attiyah Lecture, which include Dr. Fatih Birol, Executive Director, International Energy Agency, H.E. Abdalla Salem El-Badri, Secretary General, OPEC and H.E. Fuad Siniora, Lebanon’s former Prime Minister.
