Permission required to restore heritage site

No heritage building in Saudi Arabia can be restored without the approval of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA).

The historical and architectural significance of the building needs to be assessed by SCTA before any action is taken, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. The relevant authorities will also be responsible to communicate and seek a permission from the SCTA to remove and/or restore a heritage building or any archeological sites.
