40 per cent of construction projects are delayed due to lack of qualified workforce

Construction companies in Saudi Arabia have lost 40 per cent in the last two years due to the lack of professional foreign workers in the Kingdom, stated Fahd Al-Hammadi, Chairman, Contractors Committee at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He further confirmed that the shortage of qualified labour is caused by the Labor Ministry’s rejection of their visa requests. Contractors are not only losing projects but also delaying the completion of already started projects. Big players still able to survive, whilst many small companies already left the market.
